I am a 2002 BFA graduate of the Columbus College of Art and Design with an emphasis in Time-Based Media Studies and a Minor in Art History. Since my graduation I've worked as a graphic designer, primarily focusing on web design and interactive media.
I'm currently located in Seattle and am the Web Content Manager for Senior Services, designing and maintaining all of the agency's 12+ websites. Additionally, I am a freelance designer and am always working on a variety of independent projects.

In addition to my professional design career I have continued working on my personal fine art, exploring different media and drawing on my interest in art history, particularly Medieval and Byzantine iconography.
Heavily influenced by Byzantine art, Art Nouveau and the Arts and Crafts movement, I use a mix of highly stylistic graphic illustration and pattern to convey a sense of other-worldness and detachment in my art and designs. Inspired by seraphim, cherubim and other angelic and demonic visions, I love portraying "heads with wings" and stoic goddesses floating in a spiritual space. Like Medieval works, I use stark backgrounds to bring emphasis to the highly detailed and supernatural subject.
My interest in ancient artwork goes beyond motifs and patters and extends into the media I use. I primarily work in ink, encaustic and egg tempera, capturing modern subjects with archaic methods.
I'm currently exploring illustrative pen and ink work I hope to use for screen printing large scale tapestries. My goals for 2011 will be to learn more about working with fibers and beading and incorporating encaustic into my paper and fabric creations.

I live with my loving husband in Chinatown in the heart of Seattle, Washington. In addition to being a designer and artist I study Kajukenbo, weight lift and can the bounty of Washington harvests. A bit of a nerd at heart, I like table top gaming, video games and Kung Fu movies. 36th Chamber of Shaolin is one of my favorites.
